Daddy's Little Sunshine...

...is growing like a weed!

Look at those chubby cheeks! She had another well baby checkup yesterday. She is now 4.5 months old and weighs 13 lbs 2 oz and is 25 inches long! She also had her second round of vaccinations. She barely even whimpered and was all smiles again as soon as it was over. She's such a champ!

Also this week:

-We successfully made it through our first full week with the sitter! She's absolutely wonderful with Lady A, and we're so blessed to have her. It makes it much easier to leave her knowing she's so well cared for.
-David, Jess, and Kat came for a visit. Fun family time! Poor Katbird got sick, though, so they had to leave earlier than planned. :(
-The musical bird on Ainslee's playmat quit singing, and she tried for at least 30 minutes to make it sing. Nana came through with a replacement! Check out this happy face as a result:

Fun times!

It's been awhile...

Shew...what a day! Today was Lady A's first day with the sitter. She did great, and I was a train wreck all day! We were both super tired this morning because the teething gremlin visited and replaced my sweet baby girl with a fussy baby who was up several times last night. I also forgot that my car was on E until I got in it this morning, so as Mondays go, this was not my favorite...

Some pics from the past week or so:

Hopefully I won't take so long between posts next time!

Sleepy Saturday

This morning we're all sleepy...

Sleepy Ainslee...

...and sleepy Cinci.

Cinci is living the good life, and poor Ainslee looks like she's busting out of that sleeper, though actually it's a little big.

It's been very hectic the last few weeks, and we are loving this chance to be lazy! When we get motivated, we're going to get up and ready to go to a baby shower to celebrate LaShanda's little man. So exciting!

In the land of Lady A updates, today is her 4-month birthday! I think she may be preteething. She drools all the time and has started gumming everything she can get her little hands on, plus she's been a little fussy and has started rubbing at her jaw. It seems a little early to me, so I guess we'll just wait and see! She is a champ at holding her head steady now, and she loves to sit up and see more of the world now. The bumbo is great for this:

I love watching her play and explore. One of her newest things is tracking Cinci. She loves to watch her run around. She also loves to "sing" with Jeremiah, and I love watching them together. He kept her by himself for the first time this week, which I was nervous about. I think he was a little offended by my nervousness, but they did great!

Lastly, my favorite pic since last time...

Baby date!

Ainslee and Brandt had another baby date, and this time they were both awake! Work has been wild recently, and it was so nice to have mommy dinner/baby date to unwind and enjoy our little ones. I've missed our mommy lunches since we both have returned to work!

Hope everyone enjoys their weekends!

Mopey Monday

Weekends are just not long enough! I now refer to Monday as Mopey Monday because I hate leaving baby girl to go to work after a great weekend with lots of family time. I don't love it any other day, but Mondays are the worst! Now that I've whined, here's how our weekend was:

-We enjoyed Friday night family dinner. It's nice to get together and relax over a good meal to wind down the week, especially when somebody else cooks and cleans!
-Jeremiah played in a softball tournament on Saturday (first place!), and Ainslee kept me company while I cleaned out our closet.
-Continuing my domestic streak, I fixed cheddar jack chicken, steamed brussels sprouts with Parmesan, and wild rice for dinner. Super yummy!
-On Sunday, we helped celebrate Lily's third birthday with the fabulous Fell family. It was so good to spend time with friends, and our little family had such a great time!

Now we just have to make it through the rest of the work week, then we're headed to Jeremiah's parents' for a long weekend.

And finally, the very best part of my day:

I'll take any number of Mopey Mondays just as long as I can keep coming home to this smile!

Simply Saturday

We made it to Saturday! What a long week it's been! A few tidbits from this week:
-Auntie K introduced Fraggle Rock to Ainslee...they both love it!
-She also brought her to see me at work. I love when this happens!
-Ainslee has perfected a wonderful sleep schedule for this working mommy: down around 10:30, up around 6:30, no waking!
-We've become fans of a new local restaurant, Cafe One Ten. Mac & Cheese + Gouda = Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese = a very happy me! My love for Gouda was born in Aruba...they put it on most everything. It's also great on burgers with pineapple!
-Cinci is here for a visit!
-Mudslide coffee for the Keurig is so good. It's my new morning staple.
-Ainslee's Nana has spoiled her with yet more clothes and toys. She says the baby section is an addiction! I think Aunt Becky feels the same way.
-Shutterfly is awesome. If you're not signed up, do it! They have great deals that they randomly email. Treasures so far: birth announcement, hardback photo book, 101 4x6 prints. All were FREE! (FYI- you do have to pay shipping)

Now I'm hoping for a lazy Saturday in. I'd like to go through closets and weed out the things I haven't worn in awhile while Ainslee naps, but we'll see how that goes. Here are a few pics of our happy girl! Check out the smile!

Weekend Wrap Up

Our trip to VA for Trav's 18th birthday was a success!  We enjoyed his day with him, plus lots of family time, good food, and even a little shopping.   Lady A did well with the trip.  She travels like a pro already!  Just a few pics from the weekend:

She was incredibly tolerant about being made to play the part of a real life baby doll in the toy section. She was also tolerant of the humongous flower headband. She was super thankful to make it home to her pajamas and favorite playmat!

Sing Along Saturday Morning...

...and Ainslee loves it!

We're getting ready to visit family for cousin Trav's 18th birthday, so we're up and about this morning. As I'm working on gathering some things, Lady A is watching some sing along show. She loves the music and the bright colors, but some of these songs are just terrible! There are some cute ones about Buzz Buzz Bees and the such, but the one about tag is "I'm Going to Catch You". It's slightly creepy with its "I will watch you and catch you" theme. Occupational hazard, maybe? :). Hope you each enjoy your weekends!
